Student experiences will involve the study of communication, the science of agriculture, plants, animals, natural resources, and agricultural mechanics through hands-on labs and activities. The course is structured to enable all students to have a variety of experiences that will provide an overview of the fields of agricultural science and experiences so that students may continue through a sequence of courses through high school. Students will have the opportunity to build their leadership skills through public speaking, resume and cover letter building, leadership position opportunities, conferences and conventions that highlight leadership, along with opportunities to go on field trips to colleges and agriculture industry companies through their involvement with the FFA Organization. Students enrolled in this course will be required to participate in FFA activities and a Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) project.
