COURSE DESCRIPTION: This is the highest language course we currently offer at our school. The course is designed to prepare the students to take the AP Spanish Language test at the end of the year. We follow the course work from the textbook temas which are aligned with the college board themes that will appear in the AP Spanish language test at the end of the year. We focus like in Spanish 3HH on the 3 modes of communication tested on the Spanish Language and culture test which grants students who pass it college level credit depending on their score and the school they choose to attend. We practice Interpretive communication( reading and listening skills), Interpersonal communication (conversations or email correspondence) and presentational communication (oral or written presentations) In all forms of communication we focus on 2 aspects: showing our proficiency while using Spanish to communicate and showing our understanding of how many aspects of the culture from the different Spanish speaking countries can be different from our community but also how it could be similar. Our aim is to help Language students become global citizens by exposing them to the abundance of opportunities that come when you can communicate in a language that is spoken in more than 20 countries around the world.
