Environmental Science AP

Our AP Environmental Science course is primarily designed to help students pass the College Board AP test for Environmental Science offered every Spring. Passing this course can earn college units at many universities. The primary content areas for the course include Ecosystem Biology, Global Biodiversity, Population Dynamics, Earth Systems, Land and Water Use, Energy Resources, Pollution, and Global Change.

This course is exceptionally rigorous and is focused on building critical thinking skills. There is also an emphasis on technical skills such as building arguments from evidence, reading and producing graphical representations of information, and evaluating claims. The class is very much designed to simulate a university learning experience.

Additionally, as a bi-product, the APES course will hopefully facilitate the development of empathy and environmental stewardship through a scientific perspective. Therefore, inspiring students to be creative and develop solutions to the Earth’s environmental challenges
