COURSE DESCRIPTION: In Graphic Arts 2, students take their design and production skills to the next level by actively managing and operating our on-campus student print shop. Working in a real-world business environment, students sign up for specialized departments, including design, finance, production, marketing, and promotional products, each with its own set of tasks and responsibilities. Through small-group instruction and hands-on learning, students enhance their technical and business knowledge while fulfilling orders for both on-campus and off-campus organizations. This course is structured to mirror the operations of a professional print business, emphasizing teamwork, accountability, and industry standards. As a business-oriented class, students gain experience in project management, customer service, budgeting, marketing strategies, and production workflows. Those who excel can repeat the course, refine their skills, and even advance into leadership roles within the student-run business. Students who commit to four years in the program will be recognized for their dedication with a graduation stole, signifying their expertise and contributions to the success of our print shop.
