English 9 GP

This class is designed to prepare students for high stakes exams, AP courses, and ultimately college. The class is challenging, students must come prepared to read, write, and ask questions, increase vocabulary, and more. Two to four essays per quarter includes process papers and timed writing. 25 AR points are required per quarter. Must read and test over a classic from the approved classics from the approved classics list, may choose non-classic, and must be teacher approved, to fulfill any remaining points needed for the quarter. Expect homework every day of the week and AR homework over the weekend. Semester grade is based on 40% writing, 15% tests, 20% classwork/homework, and 10% AR.
