Boys Basketball
Ridgeview Boys Basketball
The boy's basketball program at Ridgeview High School has been one of the most successful in the Central Section over the past decade. During that time, the program has won multiple Valley Championships, and three of the players from the 2017 team are currently playing Division 1 college basketball. The program is headed by Coach Mike Martin, who started with the girl's program and transitioned to the boy's program five years ago. Coach Martin has had tremendous success with both programs. The boy's basketball program provides student-athletes with a great opportunity to learn skills and character traits that will allow them to grow as basketball players, and more importantly as young men that will thrive in life once the ball stops dribbling. Over the last few years, the program has made it a rule that players must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher in order to play for the program. Although basketball is a sport that teaches a lot of lessons that can translate to other aspects of life, success in the classroom will open up more opportunities for student-athletes regardless of whether they pursue basketball after high school. This past season, the boy's varsity team had an overall GPA of 3.4, which is the best team GPA in program history. We look forward to you coming out for the basketball program and being part of the Ridgeview Basketball tradition.
