At this time, given the guidelines for public events from the California Department of Public Health and local health officials, students will have parents seated with them on the field. Very much the same as last years' commencements across the district. As with many things over the past year, event guidelines may change before commencement.
We are continuing to plan how and when other senior events and recognitions will be held in the coming weeks, either virtually or in-person (following guidelines permitted by health officials). More information about the events will be provided to senior students as plans are finalized. As Kern County moved to the "orange" tier today, I expect we will receive more guidance in the next few days. I also hope that we do not return to a more restrictive tier between now and the end of the school year.
