Camille Valadez will take Geology students to Carpinteria State Beach to participate in a field-based geologic inquiry where they will observe and analyze natural tar/oil seeps, sedimentary rock layers, and coastal processes. This hands-on experience will help students learn key concepts for their final project, which focuses on oil-related geologic processes and interpreting topographic maps.
