About Sra. Ramírez

Hello, my name is Patricia Ramírez, I am a mother to a fun, witty and wonderful son. I recently obtained my Spanish M.A. from my alma mater, CSUB, a rewarding experience, not just because I earned my degree but because my son got to see the hard work and dedication required to earn a walk down the stage. Two quotes/mottos I live by are “¡Sí se puede!” (Yes, it can be done!) and “Treat others how you want to be treated”. These two quotes can be applied in order to foster a better work ethic, improve understanding of others and strengthen alliances whether it is in the educational realm or on a personal/professional level.

I have been teaching Spanish for 20 years.  It is amazing seeing students react positively when learning about the Latino culture as well as the differences and intricacies of the Spanish language. Although I have been teaching for two decades, I still love interacting with students on a daily basis and also learning from them. When I'm not teaching, planning or grading 🤓 I like to unplug and go outdoors to hike or garden with my son and boyfriend. I also like traveling nationally - road trips are the best!- and internationally, I can't wait to be able to travel abroad again.

I don’t know what this year will be like, but my enthusiasm for teaching will certainly not waiver regardless of the outcome.
